Game day for the U13 squad members had come around after months of preparation. The day started with a visit to Twickenham Stadium and a chance to look behind the scenes of this famous rugby ground. The boys enjoyed an opportunity to be in the changing rooms, be pitch side and sit in the royal box a couple of days after the climax of an exciting 6 nations championship. First up for the U13s were Taunton Prep school who have had a good season, there are ever any easy games in this competition but this was arguably the toughest. Our intent to play patient sevens was shown from the outset, comfortable with ball in hand and showing some good patience in defence brining a comfortable victory and turning a few heads in the process. This was followed up with similar victories and performances in games two and three resulting in us finishing top of the group! This competition is tough, winning to group puts you to a knock out match to put you into day 2. We faced Feltonfleet on the main pitch so the game was streamed on the internet for all parents who couldn't make it to watch. The boys put in a performance of character and immense effort, despite holding the lead for the majority of the match Feltonfleet came back strong in a final 4 minutes of increased physicality and tempo. The boys were exemplary in their attitude and approach to playing running rugby. They should be extremely proud of their achievements.
